The genius will ask you up to 25 questions in an attempt to guess the character, whether real, fictional, or even an animal, that you have in mind. Your answers, ranging from "Yes" and "No" to "I don't know," "Probably," or "Probably No," will determine the options Akinator has to work with.
While Akinator might seem unbeatable, it's a fun challenge to see if you can stump the genius. If you manage to do so, congratulations—you've pulled off quite the feat! You can also add your character or animal to the database, so Akinator can take a shot at guessing it next time.
Akinator's uncanny abilities may lead you to believe it has supernatural powers or resides in a lamp. However, its creators attribute its success to a secret algorithm they're not keen on revealing. According to them, Akinator's accuracy is a result of analyzing the answers provided by all the players who have taken on the challenge since its creation.
Akinator has amassed an extensive database of characters, with many of them added by the players themselves. As users answer questions, the system assigns a score to each answer, depending on whether it's a "Yes," "No," "I don't know," "Probably," or "Probably No."
If Akinator successfully guesses your character, your answers and the score it accumulates are stored in that character's data. This means that the next time someone tries to stump Akinator with the same character, it will have an easier time identifying them. However, if you manage to outwit the program and it can't guess your character, your character, answers, and score are added to the database as a new entry.
